The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters announced its plan to introduce a Romanian vaccine at a regular briefing on Wednesday.
Specifically, 1,053,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine are used and 450,000 doses are used in moderation.
The government purchased 1,053,000 pfizer vaccines from the Romanian government, while 450,000 pcs from Moderina were donated by Romania.
Among them, 526,500 doses of the Pfizer vaccine will arrive at Incheon International Airport by air (DB1) at 3 p.m. on the 2nd. The remaining 526,500 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and 450,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine will arrive at 3 p.m. on the 8th.
The 1,053,000 pieces of the Pfizer vaccine, which will be supplied this time, are from Belgian Pfizer and will be effective until the 30th of this month.
The 450,000 doses of Moderna vaccine are products of Spanish lobbyists, whose expiration dates vary from November 12 to December 5.
The new vaccine was obtained through cooperation between Korea and Romania.
"The two governments have been exchanging vaccines and medical supplies since the 10th of last month for mutual cooperation in the field of quarantine in the face of a shortage of vaccines worldwide," the company said. "As a result, South Korea will purchase 1,053,000 doses of Romanian pfizer vaccines, and 450,000 doses of modus or vaccines will be provided to Romania, but South Korea will provide necessary medical supplies to Romania."
He added, "The Romanian government has thanked Korea for providing a diagnostic kit to Romania in early March last year, which marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, and this vaccine cooperation is part of international solidarity and efficient cooperation to overcome the global pandemic of infectious diseases that the Romanian government has supported."
The government plans to use 1.53 million doses of Pfizer, Moderna vaccine for those aged 18-49 as soon as they are supplied.
