However, there is a possibility that they may engage in a dispute together after seeing the results of the soon-to-be strike vote by the land union. In addition, if the management proposes a forward-looking proposal, it is willing to continue negotiations, the Haewon labor union said.
The Haewon union secured the right to dispute on the 20th after the second round of adjustment by the Central Labor Committee with the management ended with a suspension of adjustment. The Korea Land Workers' Union also secured the right to dispute with the third round of adjustment on the 19th.
HMM proposed a plan to raise wages by 8 percent, encourage 300 percent, and provide incentives after the year-end settlement to the two unions. In response, the labor and management reportedly proposed an 8% wage increase and 800% incentive in the final adjustment, but the management refused to do so.
If the Haewon union goes on a group resignation or strike, the export logistics crisis will be inevitable. In addition, strikes with land unions would be the first strike since its inception in 1976.
